The future of digital comics marketing?

This news item over at Bleeding Cool caught my eye.

“At Baltimore Comic Con in September, 215 Ink will be selling an [sic] branded Android 4.0 tablet, fully loaded with the company‚Äôs library of comics, for $99, all in.”

I would think their profit margin on this promotion can’t be all that much, but it’s an intriguing idea. Given how much cheaper Android tablets are than the iPad, this seems doable. My guess is that it’ll be a 7″ tablet, though. You can get an off-brand one of those from the likes of Sylvania or Pandigital for around $99 retail.

I don’t know anything about their comics, but I applaud their innovative marketing. Hope it works out for them.
