Indie Cover Spotlight: Nexus #16

Our look at First Comics comes to a close with Mike Baron and Steve Rude’s famous creation, Nexus:

This issue was published in January, 1986. The series has a long history, having started out as a black-and-white magazine and then color series from Capital Comics, which was a comics distributor at the time. It then moved to First for a very successful 80-issue run. It then went on to a few limited series from Dark Horse, as well as self-publication by Steve Rude himself.

A blend of sci-fi and superheroics, Nexus is Horatio Hellpop, who in exchange for his powers granted by an alien entity, is compelled to seek out and kill mass murderers after having vivid dreams about them.
